Newberry

Juneteenth Celebration.

Stage Schedule

Enjoy live, local entertainment throughout the event on the stage by Memorial Park. GPS: 1201 McKibben Street

10am:  Welcome & "Lift Every Voice and Sing"

 

10:15-10:45am:  Zumba
 

10:45-11:45am:  Afrocentric Fashion Show & Pageant
 

12-1pm: TALENT SHOW  (10 acts) (5 minutes each)
 

1-2pm: Gospel Show
 

2-4pm:  Street Dance & Live music provided

Don't miss the many FREE kid's activities throughout the event! FREE access to bounce houses and inflatable rides, chalk art will all  be available in the kids zone located in the parking lot at 1226 College St. Crafts with the Newberry Arts Center  located at 1200 Main St will be available and  so much more!

ART & CRAFT BUSINESSES

1pm-3pm

Stop by the Newberry County Courthouse Parking Lot, adjacent to the Kid's Corner and Main Street, to view classic and muscle cars brought by local owners! Interested in participating? Spaces are first come first served and limited to 30. GPS: 1226 College Street.

All Day

Learn the history leading to and following the Juneteenth day in 1865 and view artifacts showcasing the Black experience of locals at the Juneteenth display in the Newberry Opera House. Take your education a step further by visiting the Newberry Museum to learn about notable Black Newberrians and local Black history. Newberry Opera House: 1201 McKibben Street, Newberry Museum: 1300 Friend Street.

Throughout Event Area

View the dozens of local,  businesses featured along Main Street. Everything from craft and art goods to bakers to jewelry to African print clothiers! Visit food vendors surrounding Community Hall, representing local, restaurants, food trucks, caterers, and bartenders. From soul food to BBQ to Caribbean influence and more!
